Peace Lutheran Church sponsored “Loads of Love” laundry event on October 13th as their “God’s Work, Our Hands” event this year. Each year the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America asks its congregations to organize a project or event that promotes community involvement. In cooperation with Charlotte’s Quality Dairy Laundromat, volunteers from Peace paid for the washing and drying of laundry for anyone who came to the Laundromat including supplies. Approximately 20 people/families enjoyed the free laundry service. Each person had 3-4 loads of laundry. The event was funded through a grant from Thrivent Financial, and donations from the congregation of Peace. Free children’s books that were donated were also distributed that morning. The left-over funds were used to purchase laundry vouchers from Quality Dairy. The vouchers and remaining supplies were donated to Siren Eaton Shelter Thank you to Quality Dairy, Peace Lutheran Church, and Thrivent Financial for making this year’s event a rewarding experience for all. #Livegenerously
A beautiful and meaningful community Thanksgiving service last night including a combined choir with trumpets!
